About the role
The level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship offers practical knowledge and skills from planning and organising to record keeping and quality control, providing a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills, and behaviours, gained from working across an organisation and its processes.
During the apprenticeship, you will develop your skills in IT, decision making, interpersonal skills, communications, record, and document production, planning and organisation, and project management. These key skills and behaviours will support your own progression towards management responsibilities.
This role sits within the established student services team at the Leek and Buxton Campuses. As a Level 3 Business Administrator, you’ll have a keen eye for detail, readily apply initiative, demonstrate a commitment to working as a team member and produce work of a high quality. This role is focused on supporting the day-to-day operational demands that come with the delivery of high-quality student services.
This post reports to the Operations Manager for Learner Journey and has a key role in supporting the finance team in processing bursary applications.
You will also help oversee student transport, liaising with colleagues from the wider University and the High Peak Bus Company to ensure that learners can travel safely to and from college. You will also be involved with day-to-day administrative duties for the full Learner Journey team.
The team includes a range of student support services such as the Progress Coach Team, Behaviour Management, Safeguarding, Student Finance and Careers. With a strong student-centred ethos, this team works closely together to ensure barriers to learning are removed and students can progress to positive outcomes and destinations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to start a career in Business Administration as our apprenticeships combine practical training in a job with study, supporting you to gain the technical knowledge, practical experience and wider skills you need for your future career.
The role is fixed term for 20 months in order to support you to complete your Level 3 Apprenticeship. The successful candidate will have GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 as well as a high level of proficiency in managing several activities and working in a customer facing role.
As this post involves working with children and vulnerable adults, post-holders will complete mandatory safeguarding training as part of their induction.
