Job Title: Business Analyst (6-Month Contract – Hybrid/ London Working)
We are currently hiring a skilled and dynamic Business Analyst for a 6-month contract with hybrid working options based in London. As a Business Analyst, you will play a crucial role in enhancing business efficiency and effectiveness through process and technology changes across various Operating Businesses and stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have experience working within the transport industry
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Elicitation and Documentation:
- Elicit and document requirements through various techniques for pan-T&D initiatives.
- Manage and track ongoing changes to requirements, utilizing agreed change control processes.
Business Process Analysis:
- Identify, analyze, and document key business procedures, translating them into standard business process documentation.
Decision Support:
- Identify, collate, analyze, recommend, and present information to enable well-informed decisions.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Challenge and provide perspective to end-users, ensuring requirements align with business needs and wider strategies.
Documentation and Quality Assurance:
- Produce and review written documentation adhering to quality assurance standards.
- Provide operational day-to-day supervision and quality assurance of all work outputs.
Project Leadership:
- Lead the Business Analyst contribution on specific projects and/or initiatives.
Time and Resource Management:
- Plan and manage own time and resources, ensuring project objectives and activities are delivered within defined project scope.
Supplier Engagement
- Contribute to the successful procurement of products and services, including supplier engagement.
User Acceptance Testing:
- Contribute to User Acceptance Testing, generating test scripts, testing, recording defects, prioritizing, tracking, and re-testing to inform go-live decisions.
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Understanding of the business and the business environment.
- Good knowledge of Business Analysis techniques, tools, and processes.
- Awareness of current developments in IT, relevant industries, and methodologies.
- Knowledge of Project Management methodologies.
Educational Background:
- Educated to a degree level or equivalent, ideally in computer science or IT disciplines, or with relevant demonstrable work experience.
Analytical and Communication Skills:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail in requirements capture, business process flows, and documentation.
- Influencing skills with the ability to build working relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Technical Proficiency:
- Excellent spreadsheet and information processing skills.
- Good IT, numeracy, and project management skills.
