Team Overview:
The trade processing team provides trade processing services to the wholesale division covering fixed income securities and derivatives products. Our core products, Onyx and Totoro, provide quick trade capture, trade lifecycle management and integration with external systems, and are used by the global front and middle offices.

Department criteria:
A Business Analyst to become a member of the Trade Processing Technology Business Analysis Team, working primarily on the Totoro system. The wide-ranging nature of the role will give exposure to the economic and regulatory landscape in which we operate and the core business processes involved in trade processing. The candidate needs to exhibit strong analytical skills to ensure the successful generation and productive consideration of new ideas, ensure that decisions and solutions are effective in addressing the underlying problem and meeting defined objectives. Excellent communications skills (both written and oral) are required, as well as the ability to work within a diverse team.

Role/Principal accountabilities
The Business Analyst will be responsible for various aspects of trade processing and lifecycle management, though the role will be heavily geared towards detailed analysis of regulatory reporting queries and enhancement requests, coupled with the maintenance and development of Totoro's Python-based regulatory reporting rules engine. The role requires attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills, inter-personal skills, written communication skills and self-motivation.

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
Essential
* Exposure to Python
* Familiar with SQL and able to run basic queries
* Understanding of Agile best practices and SDLC controls
* Team-player who can also work independently
* Written and verbal communication skills are essential to success in this role
* Ability to read code and be able to explore technical solutions built by IT or users to extract information

Desirable

* Knowledge of FpML and message flows
* Understanding of regulatory reporting and the various regimes (e.g. MiFID II, EMIR, CFTC)
* Knowledge of fixed income products, particularly flow rates and credit derivative products.
* Development experience in any language
