Business Development Assistant

GMP Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client in Gloucestershire for a Business Development Assistant to join a highly successful, rapidly expanding organisation.

Our client is a highly successful, leading engineering firm with who specialise in a wide range of markets including infrastructure, oil, and mining. As Business Development Assistant you will work as part of a professional and dynamic UK Sales Team to facilitate growth in the UK Sales and Rental market.

The position is 20 hours a week, offering flexibility in working days/hours & hybrid working.
Salary is up to 30,000 (Pro-rata)

Business Development Assistant main duties:

• Research and monitor the UK market, including construction index memberships, to report on sales data, trends, and potential new business opportunities.
• Promote potential leads and business opportunities to the sales team.
• Reach out to existing and potential customers to present our product and service offering.
• Respond promptly and professionally to business enquiries through website, emails etc.
• Collate data on potential leads and contacts.
• Support the UK team with client meetings, develop the necessary intelligence around key clients, and play an integral part in developing the awareness of offering in the UK.
• Work closely with Marketing to assist in key campaigns including following up from any conferences or events

Business Development Assistant required skills and experience:

• Dealing with customers both in person, by phone and online
• Selling and upselling skills
• Negotiation and investigative skills
• Working with databases, CRM systems and Excel
• Good written skills
• Exceptional interpersonal & verbal communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills with good attention to detail
• Enthusiastic self-starter with a natural confidence
