Job description

Business Development Director

We are seeking a responsible, dedicated, Business Development Director to increase sales to the business as part of our strategy for growth in the right sectors. You will support the management of a sustainable pipeline of work that reflects the current and anticipated business strategy and regional business plans.


The ideal Business Development Director will achieve this through working with the team, interpreting their data and following through with client/key stakeholder engagement, key account management, and potential partner organisations with subsequent action plans to convert opportunities into tenders for the proposals team.

The Business Development Director would be responsible for:

  • Business development planning.
  • Developing and leading sector and client business & marketing plans with a view to deliver our 1-5-year plan.
  • Deciding upon the inclusion of new opportunities in the Win Work pipeline.
  • Analysing the customer base across Solutions30 to establish a common approach to retention and growth.
  • Undertaking key research to understand the Business & Project drivers of sectors, customers, and potential opportunities to form client relationships.
  • Engaging with sectors and customers to anticipate potential business opportunities and implement actions that will position Solutions30 with differentiated advantage.
  • Effective management of customer satisfaction surveys.
  • Prepare programmes of external communication, customer engagement and brand promotion

We would welcome candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Quickly adapt to new technologies and processes.
  • Able to work in an agile environment.
  • Regular communications internally with sales progression.
  • Maintain pipeline.
  • Register on relevant work winning portals.
  • Prepare and implement a PQQ template.

Essential Competencies:

  • Excellent PowerPoint skills.
  • Bid writing.
  • Basic MSP milestone planning.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Able to manage the Bid process.
