Our client is a mid-sized, established public relations (PR) agency with a specialism in corporate communications, business-to-business (B2B) PR and public affairs. It has a varied client base spanning real estate, financial services, technology and other sectors. It is gearing up for a significant growth phase and is therefore looking for a Director to join the senior management team and be the lead on its new business activities. The role has fantastic scope, with the potential of an equity stake in the business as it continues its journey. Whilst there is a strong new business element, you will also have a portfolio of clients to run and therefore will continue to operate as a senior public relations practitioner.
Responsibilities will include:
- Being the public face/shop window of the agency for all new business
- Prospecting for potential leads through networking, research and outreach
- Overseeing the pitch process, including drawing together internal teams to support new business activities
- Operating as part of the senior management team, including team and business leadership
- Contributing to business strategy and growth plans
- Overseeing a portfolio of accounts
- High level client services
Candidates should have extensive PR agency experience, preferably crossing over with at least one of our client’s sectors (property, B2B tech, financial services). They should be offer a high energy, positive approach and be passionate about delivering business growth. Specific requirements include:
- A demonstrable track record in winning new business, including both project work and retainers
- Excellent communication skills and a natural propensity for networking
- A collaborative, team-based approach
- The gravitas to deal with senior decision makers and high net worth individuals
