This role will play an instrumental part in helping them to achieve key business objectives so they're keen to onboard an experienced Business Development Manager with specific experience of selling to the restaurant industry (ideally of both food and non-food items).
As the Business Development Manager you will be responsible for:
- Landing and expanding new clients across the restaurant channel, helping to diversify the business’ portfolio of customers.
- You’ll be a natural at networking, able to
- Build trusted relationships with new and existing customers, aiming to increase their overall spend across multiple categories (including food and non-food).
- Work closely with the Bid Management team to ensure all bids are managed to meet timescales and with attractive commercial propositions.
- Lead the onboarding of new customers from the successful commencement of new contracts and ensure a successful experience for the customer and that the new relationship is protected from any potential risk or disruption.
To be successful, theBusiness Development Managerwill need:
- Evidence of successful new Business Development within the restaurant channel (food and beverages expected; non-food items a bonus)
- Fantastic communication skills, confident at designing, building and delivering presentations aimed at both external and internal stakeholder groups.
- Proficiency with systems such as Excel and Salesforce (or similar) are needed to ensure effective management of the customer acquisition pipeline.
- Commercial acumen, with the ability to successfully manoeuvre sales levers to achieve a successful outcome.
This is a ‘hands on role’ that requires a self-starting Business Development Manager who is comfortable operating as both a ‘hunter’ and a ‘farmer’ in the sales dynamic!
