THE BUSINESS
  
Our client is a family owned, highly successful business providing a range of high-quality water management solutions to the construction sector. Based in Lambton Park, Chester-Le-Street, it’s very much a value led business and the management team have developed an inclusive and supportive culture, where everyone is equal and accountable. Currently experiencing a period of growth, they are looking to add to their sales team and are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a background in construction, specifically drainage and/or civil engineering.
  
THE ROLE
  
The position on offer is that of a Business Development Manager. The ideal candidate will have a passion and enthusiasm for sales in order to make a substantial contribution to the growth and success of the company through the identification, development and conversion of business relationships.  There is already opportunity within the business to develop existing relationships with customers. 
  
This will be identified by pursuing and developing existing relationships. The focus is customer relationships and sharing our product ranges with existing customers.
You will be competent undertaking new business/sales presentations to potential clients both online and in person and use the systems within the business to record leads and opportunities.
  
The role will also involve qualifying inbound enquiries, booking meetings with existing/prospective clients and developing proposal and contract documentation as required. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to develop your skillset and forge a long-term career with this business.
  
Your duties will include:

  • Developing and establishing strong relationships with our customer base
  • Generating and following up on B2B leads/enquiries
  • Making outbound calls to existing and prospective clients
  • Booking meetings with existing and prospective clients
  • Logging information onto the company system
  • Administering and following up on the after-sales process

  
YOUR EXPERIENCE
  
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience within a sales role and understand the importance of the customer experience and be willing to challenge and overcome objections as required by this role.
  
In addition, you will have:

  • A proven track record of working within a successful sales environment
  • A sound understanding of the construction industry would be preferred, ideally drainage/civil engineering
  • Willing to hear from candidates with transferrable skills as training will be available to support the right candidate
  • A proactive approach to achieving targets
  • Confidence within a sales and account management role
  • Team player, support the existing sales team by generating leads, enquiries and opportunities
