Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager who will be responsible for identifying and selling solar/battery projects to B2B & B2C customers. The role will include finding new market opportunities and securing customer funded contracts (capex). This is a key role in the Business Development Team and will work closely with the technical and finance teams to generate compelling business cases for small to medium solar & Battery projects and work to close these opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record. They will be responsible for developing business solution opportunities within selected markets, leading all phases of the client engagement through identification, technical concept development, commercial contract negotiation and sales conversion to support delivering a defined annual sales target.
The main areas of responsibility will be:
Prepare and execute a well-defined sales strategy for selling the The Company's Energy Solar Proposition to new business and domestic customers across targeted sectors in the NW
Accountable for leading sales opportunities, including driving the sales process from plan to close, achieving growth and hitting sales targets, revenue objectives for new prospects.
Grow and manage a pipeline and opportunities, reporting to management on a regular basis an accurate view of pipeline, forecasting and actions to achieve closure.
Negotiate and secure client contracts
Be able to qualify opportunities through early analysis by collecting data and detailed information from customers.
Supporting customers through energy industry experience and giving appropriate advice.
Working with a number of introduction partners and building up those relationships
Provide customer insight back to the business to help develop our proposition to the marketplace
Proactively builds credibility by continually developing technical, industry, segment and market knowledge.
Experience and competencies
The successful candidate will have:
A proven solar new Business Development specialist with strong evidence of success in this area including the ability to hit annual revenue objectives.
Proven ability to self-generate opportunities as well as work with leads generated by The Company's Energy's lead generation engine.
A proven track record of selling small to medium scale solar projects in the UK across a range of different sectors (50kw to 500kw).
Having experience in other energy solutions like gas generation, energy efficiency, Battery Storage would be desirable.
Experience of working B2B customers at C-suite level.
Possess strong analytical ability and be able to interpret complex energy data and pricing structures.
Technical and business knowledge related to solar PV & Battery Storage.
First class sales and negotiation skills with the ability to develop and deliver professional sales proposals.
Strong pipeline management skills and working with CRM systems.
Passion for the energy industry
Ownership, management and delivery of the end-to-end sales process
