This role is home based in our northern region covering Scotland, North East, North West, Yorkshire, and Humberside down to Nottingham. Work life balance is important to us and so we are open to discussion on flexible working patterns and part-time working (minimum 4 days per week).
Role:
The role of Business Development Manager is to be responsible for growing or maintaining the business with the right trade partners that are in line with our brands and values. You are required to build and maintain effective and supportive relationships who will contribute to achieving the overall trade expectations and targets. Working with the team to deliver the best service, expert knowledge and commercial understanding of the key partners. The role will also be instrumental in implementing and delivering the strategy around home workers working closely with colleagues in the agency sales team.
- Remotely desk based with a targeted approach to visiting key agents.
- Develop and maintain existing relationships with key accounts.
- Drive trainings and sales through the branches within key accounts.
- Understand and look for new opportunities of growth.
- Devise and implement methods with our agent partners in which to drive and improve inline with our company objectives.
- Produce annual plans with your account managers including regular contact meetings. face to face and by phone to review and adapt plans where necessary.
- Assume responsibility for budgets and develop strategies for key accounts working with head of agency sales.
- Ensure ROI is key to driving sales with accounts and activity agreed.
- Be creative in solving commercial challenges and negotiation skills.
- Use systems and data for monitoring progress and adapt plans.
- Attend/host events, trainings and fam trips.
- Work with head of agency sales and agency sales partnership exec to implement the homeworking strategy.
Person:
Previous experience of working in a Business Development role within the travel industry is essential. In addition you will:
- Have experience of using data to create a targeted approach in your day to day planning.
- Demonstrate professional sales presentation techniques.
- Have a knowledge and passion of walking or ski.
- Demonstrate experience in driving business growth/bringing in new business opportunities.
- Be confident in decision making.
- Have the ability to be able to travel around the UK and overseas as required.
- Have the flexibility to be able to work evenings and weekends as required with overnight stays.
- Hold a valid drivers licence and have access to a vehicle.
- Be based in the north of the UK.
