The detailed bit Starting in September 2024, you'll join the CAA on a two-year Graduate Business Management Programme in which you will have the opportunity to rotate across the business. Whilst on the programme you will acquire vital experience through undertaking 3 x 8-month rotations, across a range of key roles and/or projects across the CAA. This not only means variety, but the chance to broaden your commercial awareness and skill set, gaining an insight into the UK CAA in its entirety. These rotations will give you the chance to test out completely different business areas, roles and help you craft and develop your future career within the CAA. With the assistance of your dedicated personal mentor from our business and your Graduate Buddy you'll build a Graduate development plan (GDP) that will follow and support your management journey throughout. You will experience a variety of challenges, support and learning opportunities to enable you to build upon your strengths and make amazing happen. Your Programme - Two-year programme - Three x 8-month cross functional rotational placements - Induction training programme - Tailored career development planning - Accessible and approachable mentorship from senior leaders - Opportunities to work on strategic business development projects - On programme training - Part of a graduate cohort community - Personal Mentor - Graduate Buddy Rotations could include Aviation Security - while the Government leads on international aviation security matters and UK aviation security policy (including the setting of security standards), the CAA regulates security arrangements at UK airports and for air carriers, cargo and in-flight suppliers to ensure that the relevant entities comply with UK and international security requirements. Typical roles you could be working in: Scheduling Controllers, Cybersecurity Support Officer, Compliance Auditor (TBC Shadowing), etc. Communications - the aim of our Communications teams is simply to protect the organisation. To do this, we work with every single area of the organisation, co-ordinating; advising; and supporting departments with whatever communications requirements they may have. We also connect the organisation within by sharing stories relating to our opportunities, developments and achievements. Typical roles you could be working in: Communications Co-ordinator (PR, Internal - external content, media) etc. Chief Operating Officer (COO) - the teams within the COO carry out specialist supporting functions for the CAA, so that the regulatory areas are able to focus their own expertise to improve the safety, security, customer choice and value of the aviation industry. The COO function is made up of the following teams - Finance & Corporate Services, Corporate Planning & Performance, Portfolio Delivery, Heath, Safety & Security, Information Services, Estate Services and UKAB. Typical roles you could be working in: PMO Analyst, Project Support Officer, Business Systems Support co-ordinator, Business Support Analyst, IT Desk Analyst, Security Officer, Procurement Officer, Technical Support Officer (Shared Service Centre), Team Leaders (Shared Service Centre) etc. International - a number of teams work within the International Group fostering strong and lasting relationships with organisations across the aviation spectrum to bring together experience, technology and resources in an actionable and long-lasting way to develop long term collaboration tackling major aviation challenges and progression of aviation and aerospace strategies. Typical roles you could be working in: Project Co-ordinator, Business Development co-ordinator, Innovation Services Specialist, International Project Co-ordinator, etc. Office of the General Counsel (OGC) - the OGC provides legal advice, helps in the development of new policy, risk management and runs litigation on behalf of the CAA. The OGC also carry out investigations, take enforcement action and provide internal audit support. Typical roles you could be working in: Corporate Standards Officer (Ethics), Legal Support Officer (TBC Shadow programme) etc. Safety ? that airlines are competent; that flight crews, air traffic controllers and aircraft maintenance engineers are fit and competent; that licensed aerodromes are safe to use and that air traffic services, and general aviation activities meet required safety standards. Typical roles you could be working in: Technical Officer, Airspace Operations Utilisation Assistant, Business Systems Co-ordinator, Systems Owner, Technical Support Officers, Airspace Specialist, Safety Assurance Assistant, etc. People & Culture - Passionate about people? A placement with the People & Culture team will focus on areas such as Employee Wellbeing, Diversity & Inclusion, Employee Engagement, recruitment activity and the overall company culture. Your focus will be establishing a supportive environment that gives our employees the ability to excel in their roles. Typical roles you could be working in: Reward & Recognition Consultant, Trainee People Consultant, Resourcing Co-ordinator, HR Ops Advisor, etc. Strategy ? co-ordination of our environmental programme; policy development and research; improving the breadth and quality of the information we use to make decisions and supporting review and further development of the CAA's strategy.
