Salary: £36,312 - £42,717 (pro-rata for part time and sessional)
Hours: 18 per week, 40 weeks sessional
The successful candidate will work within a creative, inclusive and professional Senior Leadership Team in Gorgie Mills School. The role of the Business Manager is to lead work in a number of areas, including, but not limited to, Staffing, Finance, Procurement, HR (including recruitment), Health & Safety and Property Maintenance. The role of the Business Manager is to work closely with, and provide support to, the school's Senior Leadership Team, which consists of 1 Head Teacher, 2 Depute Head Teachers, 1 Principal Teacher and 1 Business Manager. The Business Manager is responsible for Business Support within the school and acts as line manager to the School Administrator. The Business Manager also works closely with Facilities Management.
Gorgie Mills School is a non-denominational, additional support needs school for secondary age learners with a wide range of social, emotional and behavioural needs and is situated in the South West Locality of The City of Edinburgh Council. The school provides a nurturing environment in which attainment and achievement are supported through the development of positive relationships and high levels of personalisation.
The successful candidate will be able to multitask in a busy environment, while working closely with the Senior Leadership team. Good IT skills and knowledge of finance and workforce systems along with experience of managing both budgets and finance. Experience of working in a school is desirable but other relevant experience will be considered.

You should be qualified to at least HNC level in a Business-related subject, experience of using SEEMiS, Oracle, iTrent and Frontier would be beneficial.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
