- Summary/Objective
- The business Support Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of the laundry department within our organization. This includes managing laundry staff, ensuring the proper laundering of linens and towels, maintaining equipment and upholding high-quality standards. The Business Support Manager will contribute to maintaining a clean well-organized and productive laundry facility.
- Responsibilities and Duties:
- Staff Management:
- Recruit, Train and supervise laundry staff, including washers, dryers and pressers.
- Schedule staff shifts and manage work assignments to ensure efficient workflow
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement
- Laundry Operations:
- Oversee the sorting, washing, drying, folding and packing of linens and other laundry items
- Ensure that laundry procedures, including stain removal and garment care are carried out according to established standards
- Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of cleaning supplies and linens
- Equipment maintenance:
- Regularly inspect and maintain laundry equipment to ensure safety and optimal performance
- Arrange for equipment repairs or replacements when necessary
- Quality Assurance
- Implement and maintain strict quality control measures to ensure the cleanliness and presentation of all laundry items
- Address customer concerns or issues related to laundry services promptly and professionally
- Budget and Cost Control:
- Monitor laundry department expenses and manage the budget effectively
- identify opportunities for costs savings and efficiency improvements
- Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for laundry staff
- Stay informed about industry standards and best practices related to laundry operations
- Skills, Experience and Qualification
- Qualifications: Degree preferred but not mandatory
- Skills: Good level of English, Multi-lingual, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience: Experience in relevant business is preferred but full training will be provided
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: From £10.75 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
