We are delighted to announce the opportunity has opened to join the Alternative Heat team as Head of Operations, overseeing and ultimately holding full responsibility in our manufacturing facilities, everything from capacity measures to Health and Safety.
Within Alternative Heat we provide a turnkey offering and have individual departments to assist with everything from design, manufacturing & installation. The successful candidate will be responsible in developing the Fabrication and Assembly Facilities to maximise production and measure capacity ensuring we scale with company growth.
Due to our continued success on delivery across of Data Centres across Europe, UK & IRE, we are now one of the leading manufactures in the delivery of offsite modular packages in Chilled Water System, accompanied with the inclusion of modular plantrooms, we have ambitions to grow our network and be the contractor of choice within the Data Centre sector.
As we continue to excel in this sector, we are looking for an individual who has experienced working within a manufacturing environment and the ability to bring new and fresh ideas to sustain the company’s strong growth and future development plans. An individual who can hold responsibility for the recruiting of key team members, measuring capacity and monitoring forecast workloads.
We are looking for the individual who is a strong communicator within the team and can continue to build on our current capacity to deliver more for our valued clients, always looking out for the best interest of the company and protecting our position in the market.
An individual who can introduce development plans to keep evolving the teams and recruitment plans to continue delivery of these prestigious projects to the company high standards and programme.
A strategic planner analysing current and future workloads in relation to the delivery process and assessing the capabilities to fulfil contractual requirements and identifying potential risks and growth opportunities within the department.
Has strong commercial awareness to valuate on monthly reporting to director level and presenting future forecasts against current delivery.
Hold the responsibility in directing his teams and departments along any project lifecycle, bring a good working culture and holding the company core values always at the forefront through all business and project objectives.

Key Responsibilities


  • Hold ultimate responsibility for the delivery of £20million+ Data Centres projects per annum, which come in a range of £10-5 million per project.
  • Strategic project planning, ability to forecast, current capacity against works in the pipeline, analysing recruitment requirements for professional growth.
  • Hold ultimate responsibility in the recruitment of the teams, to fabricate and assemble project requirements.
  • A strong commercial minded individual overseeing the manufacturing in a project lifecycle, highlighting company risks with mitigation strategies.
  • Prompt and directing all departments to ensure projects are delivered on Programme and Budget
  • Provide Monthly presentations to Director level, ascertain whether projects targets are being achieved and establish corrective measures to be taken if necessary.
  • Identifying department performance, areas of risk and project delivery strategies.
  • Identify Resources plans and training requirements along with department KPI’s.
  • Fantastic communication skills within the department to deliver the message and keep growing the relationships with our current manufacturing teams, ensuring our core values are being adhered to.
  • Fresh thinker always looking ahead at potential new ways in the manufacturing of a project and always looking for efficiencies through the manufacturing lifecycle.
  • Integrated planning meetings and arranging with the relevant project stakeholders to agree contract baseline programmes, highlighting scope and potential risks.
  • As we Continue to build relationships with our valued clients, this individual will always be looking at ways maximise our capacity across our manufacturing facilities so we can extend our offerings.

What You’ll Need to Succeed in This Role:


  • Ideally a minimum of 10 years professional experience in a senior leadership or director role, delivering £20m+ per annum.
  • Can liaise across multiple departments on serval projects directing and holding full responsibility for the manufacturing and key milestone dates.
  • Extensive planning experience and excellent attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills both internally and externally of the company.
  • Experience working in major manufacturing companies to deliver multi-million-pound projects.
  • Self-motivated team player with good people skills.
  • Integrity and credibility, people want to work with you.
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Degree in a relevant design, manufacturing, or equivalent subject.
  • An in depth understanding of the LEAN processes and adopting them into the manufacturing facilities would be advantageous.
  • Ideally a member of a chartered institute or equivalent accreditation, to support the complex nature of business development and technical input required for the position would be advantageous.
