Due to growth, a very successful, independent, family orientated FMCG retailer, with over 300 stores are seeking a Buyer to join their Procurement Team in the Head Office in Birmingham. It's a fast paced environment where you will be given guidance and training and be ultimately responsible for managing your own categories.
The Buying role will involve:
Developing and maintaining good relationships with suppliers, ranging from global FMCG brands to small family run businesses.
Negotiating and agreeing prices and trading terms, placing orders in line with demand.
Creating a balanced commercial plan based around growth and reviewing ranges.
The ideal person will have:
Previous experience of working as a Buyer in a Purchasing or Buying environment - within FMCG
Commercial and market awareness and the desire to further develop knowledge and skills
Excellent communication skills at all levels and the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Ability to work at a fast pace and further your Buying career within in a dynamic and evolving environment
