An exciting opportunity has arisen with one of my key clients for a Merchandiser/Buyer based in the Huddersfield area.
You will be joining a team of 4 and will be responsible for products coming in from China, Turkey & India.
Your key duties will include:
- Analysing sales data, interpret, and summarise to clearly articulate recommendations that aid key commercial decisions.
- Own a group of suppliers and manage ordering stock in line with stock targets.
- Liaise with suppliers and shipping companies and secure best shipping options, also to liaise with agents to clear containers and move them from port to warehouse.
- Own a group of customers and manage their merchandising side including stock update, selections & estimates, promotions etc
- Stock analysis to drive stock health actions.
- Working closely with warehouse team and plan and manage stock takes, stock control and cyclical counts.
- Ensures productive relationship functions between merchandising and all other departments in the business.
My client is ideally looking for someone with merchandising experience however they will consider someone with a buying background who wants to move into a merchandising role.
Key attributes & skills to include:
- Ability to think strategically, analyse data and make decisions.
- A strong knowledge of merchandising/buying
- Experience of working with external suppliers
- Skilled in Microsoft Office
- Confident with Excel – Including the use of V-Lookup and Pivot.
- Strong interpersonal, communications & leadership skills.
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of shipping line and container deliveries is desirable.
