Salary Our client is a leading fashion retailer based in Dubai. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Buying Director to join their senior management team.
Within this role you will:
• Develop and implement a strategic buying plan for the category that aligns with the overall goals and objectives of the business.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and manufacturers, negotiating terms and contracts as necessary.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the latest trends and consumer preferences, and use this knowledge to inform purchasing decisions.
• Manage the inventory of apparel products, including forecasting demand, determining appropriate inventory levels, and ensuring timely and efficient replenishment of stock.
• Analyze sales data to identify trends, optimize pricing, and inform future buying decisions.
• Work collaboratively with other departments within the company, including marketing, sales, and operations, to ensure a coordinated approach to product development, promotion, and sales.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, manufacturers, and industry partners.
• Ensure that all purchasing activities are conducted in compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
• Manage the budget for category purchasing, ensuring that expenses are within budget and that revenue targets are met.
• Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the buying process.
The ideal candidate will have a background in fashion buying with significant range building, sourcing and product development experience.
Experience of working at a similar level within a retail head office environment is essential.
