Cad Engineer

The company I am working with operates on a national basis and is known for service and delivery of earthworks/remediation/civil engineering schemes. They will often take on the earthworks and remediation package then continue via enabling works and site infrastructure works- the whole package 'in the ground'

Current schemes are split between residential and commercial clients. Projects tend to range from a few hundred thousand £ up to around £10 m and beyond.

This contractor is a well known name and they have developed a strong reputation. In order to continue this they are looking for CAD Engineers for their Sheffield and Bristol offices. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following-

• Production of tender, contract and as-built drawings as required using AutoCAD software or other software including - but not limited to - construction details, location plans, sections, etc.
• Production of drawings from topographical survey and site record information.
• 3-D volumetric calculation of soils/ works, e.g., contamination plumes through interpolation, production of Cut / Fill quantities and extraction of details and quantities from tender drawings, site investigation reports and other mapping sources.
• Manage upkeep of drawing block library.
• Manage upkeep of drawing database and file system.
• Presentation and compilation of tender and contract completion documents.
• Liaise with Directors, Project Managers/ Leads and Engineers.
• Maintain knowledge and commitment to (CPD), keep abreast of latest software developments and improvements appropriate to role and suggest innovative changes that will enhance the business to ensure CAD work is delivered to a high standard.
• Manage and mentor CAD resource under direction from Line Manager.
• Support tender and marketing efforts by providing drawings or visual representations according to skills and as required.
