Job Summary:
We are seeking a CAD Technician to join our expanding team. As a CAD Technician, working within the wider operations team offering support, you will be responsible for creating technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Your attention to detail and proficiency in various CAD software programs will contribute to the successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed technical drawings and plans from basic fit-out/conversion, to new build projects for healthcare equipment.
- Adhering to time, cost and quality standards to produce solutions which meet the scope of works and requirements of the scheme /project.
- Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD and Revit
- Review and modify existing drawings as necessary
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project specifications and thoroughly appraise external documentation.
- Attend and contribute in design meetings alongside sales representatives or project managers, communicating with main contractors, architects and engineers to develop project solutions.
- Conduct quality checks on completed designs to identify any errors or discrepancies
-Exercise and oversee correct document control throughout projects, using document portals such as Trimble/4P and adhering to drawing/model numbering protocols. (training can be given)
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project deadlines are met
- Working with the existing Senior CAD Designer to build a strong department and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
-Visit site when required to overcome unforeseen site issues and develop area specific design solutions.
Experience:
- Competent user of AutoCAD (Essential) and Revit (Preferable)
- Competent user of MS packages e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams.
- Basic understanding of technical drawing principles and practices
- Ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate with a range of people at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
