Capital Accounting Manager

Three Bridges Recruitment is working with a leading organisation that is recruiting for a Capital Accounting Manager based in Edinburgh. Experience in strategic financial management and public sector experience is preferred.

The role is on an initial 12-month contract and is a great opportunity for a project accountant looking for a new challenge.

Job

The role of Capital Accounting Manager will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:

• Assisting in the creation and administration of the Strategic Capital Plan
• Reporting on the financial performance and forecasts of the capital programme
• Providing guidance on Capital Accounting standards, governance, and compliance
• Improving financial planning, risk management, and business process efficiency
• Ensuring the accuracy of the fixed asset register and equipment replacement schedules
• Managing and overseeing leases in accordance with IFRS 16 reporting standards
• Preparing statutory annual accounts and ad hoc financial reports
• Evaluating business cases for capital and lease expenditures
• Developing and implementing financial policies and procedures

You

As a Capital Accounting Manager you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:

• Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Proven experience in Capital Accounting within the public sector
• Extensive knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 16
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives
• Competency in financial software and Microsoft Office suite
