Responsibilities

Role Overview

The CAPS Business Development Director will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for developing and executing strategies to expand our network of partner companies, including Bodyshop and Dealer Management Systems. This role requires a dynamic individual with a proven track record in cultivating strategic partnerships, fostering business relationships, strong negotiation skills and driving revenue growth through collaborative ventures. The Director partners with the CAPS and wider product teams to recommend enhancements to the product suite based on trends in potential customer needs and provides information and support to the Customer Delivery Team to ensure the successful completion of product delivery.  This position also works to qualify the prospective strategic partnerships for commercial relationships with CAPS across all customer segments.

Essential functions

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive partnerships strategy to attract new companies to connect to CAPS for data supply.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate potential partnerships to ensure alignment with the company's objectives and values working with key decision makers through prospecting, and sales presentations to maintain and grow the CAPS product
  • Collaborate with internal teams, specifically Product, Engineering and CAPS Sales team to define partnership requirements, ensuring seamless integration and value delivery.
  • Drive revenue growth by leveraging partnerships to expand the reach and impact of CAPS
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with existing partners, fostering collaboration and identifying opportunities for mutual benefit (data accuracy, schema changes)
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify potential partnership opportunities.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the organisation and ELT on partnership progress and performance.
  • Build strong relationships to work effectively across business areas including areas of tactical and strategic support
  • Develop direct reports to their full potential through training, coaching and feedback; provide guidance on the development of indirect reports
  • Participate in meetings, conventions, conferences, and other functions to grow the CAPS product
  • Strive to continually improve the services and product of the organization; evaluate the CAPS strategy to identify ways to operate more effectively and efficiently, and address underlying customer needs.

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven experience in a strategic partnerships role, preferably in a tech or data-related industry in a leadership role.
  • Strong Business Development, negotiation, and networking skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets.
  • Familiarity with data-related technologies and industry trends.
