Here at Wilfred Geere and Laburnum Lodge, we have an exciting opportunity for you to become part of our dynamic, supportive teams. We are looking for dedicated, compassionate Care Assistants to join our CQC “good” rated service. For permanent contracts, you will be based at one of the bed bases, however there may be opportunities to work across both sites. Casual contracts are available at one or both of the intermediate bed bases.
What do we do?
We provide 24-hour residential care for service users who require continuation of care and rehabilitation, across two units: Laburnum Lodge, situated in Breightmet; and Wilfred Geere in Farnworth. The aim of the Units is to support residents to regain as much independence as deemed achievable and return home or move onto alternative care arrangements. At Bolton we recognise the skills individuals can bring and promote joint working, with both NHS staff and local authority staff working on-site.

What will your working week look like?
- A variety of contractual hours and casual contracts available (to be discussed at interview)
- Opportunities to pick up additional shifts.
- For permanent contracts: rolling 4-week rota.
- Working between 7:15am – 10:00pm dependant on shift pattern:
o 7:15am-2:45pm OR
o 2:30pm-10:00pm
- Weekend on/ weekend off basis to promote work/life balance.

About You
What will you be expected to do?
You will be supporting individuals with tasks of daily living, to provide high quality care and support; enabling people to regain as much independence as deemed achievable and return home or move onto alternative care arrangements.
You will be expected to use and monitor the computer-based information systems that are involved in capturing all daily living tasks and goals. You will be expected to work alongside Health Care professionals and our partner services and follow detailed skills plans.
You must ensure that the service is delivered to the highest achievable professional standards to support vulnerable adults with both rehabilitative and / or mental health needs to retain / regain community living.
There is a sister service and at times you may be required to work from another base, you will need to be able to travel across the borough to deliver the service and have excellent time keeping.
Your work will be compliant with all CQC regulations, and Bolton Council policies and procedures.
