As one of Edinburgh’s leading providers of home care, Social Care Alba delivers a wide range of care services which help people to stay in their own homes for longer. We are looking for a Care Manager to join our exciting, friendly and dynamic team.

Care Manager - The Role:

Responsibilities:

Managing all staff within the Care Department, ensuring effective staff:

• Learning & development
• Supervision & performance
• Mentorship & sharing of skills and knowledge
• Liaison with the Scottish Social Services Council
• Use of best practise and research throughout the company
• Planning with HR and Admin departments to support growth

Managing the delivery of support to all service users, ensuring effective and timeous:

• Delivery of direct care and support
• Handling of emergency on-call issues
• Liaison with the Care Inspectorate and EHSCP
• Assessments, plans, reviews and audits of support
• Reporting of Incidents, accidents, or complaints

Managing workflow across the Care Department, including:

• Participating in the on-call rota
• Managing risk, health and safety
• Updating electronic records including rotas
• Completing admin tasks on time, every time
• Leading, attending, and contributing to meetings
• Efficiently drive business growth and development
• Leading in the creation of the Annual Improvement Plan

Care Manager - Candidate specification:

• Experience in a similar role
• Degree or equivalent in a Health or Social Care specialism
• SVQ 4 or equivalent in Management and Leadership
• Good - Business management and growth
• Good - Risk management & health and Safety
• Good - Communication across different audiences
• Good - Ability to work independently with initiative
• Good - Time management, planning, and organising
• Excellent - l.T. skills and knowledge
• Excellent - People management and leadership
• Excellent - Understanding of all legislation related to the role
