Main Purpose of the Job:
1. To be responsible for the day to day delivery of the Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) Service to both potential and existing clients ensuring that the highest possible standards of Advice and Guidance are rigorously maintained.
2. To be responsible for preparing for an GLA/ESFA (or any relevant funding body) audit of client files as and when required
3. To work closely with the Business and Resources and Employment, Jobs and Partnership teams to ensure that targets achieved.
4. To lead and develop the provision of adult IAG and Careers Information including the management of Matrix accreditation across the service.
5. To proactively contact learners via phone, email or class visits as part of project work and to be responsible for the collation of destination and progression data and learner case studies.
Summary of Responsibilities and Personal Duties:
IAG and Careers Information
1. To develop and implement strategies for Careers information Advice and Guidance (IAG) across the service. To develop, implement and manage an impartial IAG provision which will facilitate learner progression and create opportunities within and external to Adult Learning Lewisham.
2. To be responsible for ensuring that quality assurance procedures are in place and implemented across the service area, working with other staff to maintain the standards, including preparing for MATRIX re-accreditation (every 3 years) and regular yearly inspection reviews.
3. To be responsible for tracking of client/student outcomes and planning for progression and further development.
4. To complete individual Action Plans with all clients. To undertake personal caseload for client contact offering specialist career guidance sessions.
5. To stay up-to-date with Labour Market Information (including Ofsted requirements for IAG delivery). To attend external career events, network meetings and mandatory training.
6. To provide impartial education and training advice to clients and employers who seek such help, including facilitating their introduction to, or access to, other information services or education and training providers.
Professional Qualifications
1. Minimum Level 4 qualification in Information, Advice and Guidance or willingness to achieve it within one year of starting
Experience
1. Experience of working in a post-16 educational organisation
2. Experience of being responsible for large budgets.
3. Experience of organising administrative processes across diverse functions
