Caretaker & Cleaners

The United Schools Federation is seeking to appoint three Premises Staff at The Topsham School in Exeter. We are looking for a Caretaker and two Cleaners.

Caretaker:
25 hours per week, Monday to Friday - 52 weeks per year
Grade C, scale point 5 to 7: 12.18 - 12.59 per hour dependant on experience.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and committed person to assist in the care for the buildings and premises. You will be part of a team ensuring a safe, clean and well-maintained school environment for all staff and children, working under the direction of the United Schools Federations Premises Manager. The ability to complete physical work and be able to use tools to complete minor maintenance tasks is essential. Work will be both inside or outside dependant on the task. You will be responsible for grounds tasks; general maintenance; site security and Health and Safety. Cleaner (2 Posts):
2 hours per day, five days per week, Monday - Friday, term time only plus two weeks per year for holiday cleaning. Grade A, scale point 2: 11.59 per hour.
We are looking for a cheerful, reliable and hard-working person ideally with experience in the cleaning trade (although training will be available from our senior caretaking team), to ensure the school is kept in a clean and hygienic condition. Due to the nature of the post a level of physical health is required for bending, possible awkward positions, and light lifting. General cleaning duties in a specified area will be your daily routine although you may be required to change to other areas of the school as and when required. You will be part of a team who oversee the safety, security and cleaning of The Topsham School and please keep in mind that school cleaning will cover many different areas including toilets as well as the usual classrooms, hallways etc. See Job Description for further details.
