Salary: GBP28,770 - GBP32,076 per annum plus benefits package and essential car user allowance

Caseworker The Role:
Care and Repair Services assist elderly, disabled and vulnerable people in Fenland to organise building related works to their own homes that will allow them to remain living independently, safely and comfortably.
As part of a small team, your duties as Caseworker will include visiting clients in their own homes to identify their housing needs and provide advice and practical assistance to achieve the best outcome for their particular circumstances.
You will provide advice and practical assistance on benefits and housing options; check eligibility for financial assistance and prepare applications to enable the client to access suitable grants or loans. In the event of building works, you will follow set procedures to arrange surveys, specifications, schedules of work and quotes and act as the advocate for the client, supporting them through the building process.
Caseworker You:
You will need to have 5 GCSEs, or equivalent, grade A-C, to include English and Maths, have experience of working with the general public and possess strong communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. You will have a knowledge and understanding of the role of home improvement agencies and of disabled adaptations. You will also understand the issues and needs of older, disabled and vulnerable individuals. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
This post is for a 3 year fixed term period. Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Services check.
