Your new company
Bournemouth University is looking to recruit a Category Manager for their Procurement team, reporting directly into the Head of Procurement. As Category Manager, you will be working closely and building relationships with senior stakeholders and expert users including Deans and Departmental Directors.
The University spends up to £60m on external goods, services and works annually, so you can look forward to having the autonomy to create, develop, lead and implement sustainable procurement strategies and tender procedures in accordance with the University's Sustainable Procurement Policy.

Your new role
- Taking charge of your category area to develop and implement procurement strategies
- Managing complex tenders, framework agreements and negotiations
- Supplier relationship management and risk mitigation
- Leading cross-functional teams, reporting directly into the Head of Procurement
What you'll need to succeed
- Understanding of PCR 2015 and successfully operating within them in the public sector is a prerequisite
- Procurement category management experience
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Stakeholder management skills and ability to influence key decision-makers is crucial
