I am recruiting on behalf of an established and reputable consultancy company who are looking to welcome an experienced Category Manager into their successful team. You will be managing a small team of Category Buyers and Administrators, and you will play an active role in coaching and mentoring these individuals. Looking after high value areas of spend within the capital projects and fire safety category, you will deliver end-to-end tender processes in line with Public Contract Regulations (PCR2015). The Category Manager will also have responsibility for drafting and negotiating terms within standard industry forms of contract such as JCT and NEC and developing relationships with both large and SME contracting partners.
The position is both a strategic and operational role, which entails devising category strategies to help grow and develop the category, as well as the \'hands-on\' tendering of high value contracts.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience operating at a Category Manager / Procurement Manager level, and have a good working knowledge of the capital projects / CAPEX category. You must have line management experience and be a strong negotiator. The Category Manager must also have experience of drafting and negotiating contracts under JCT/NEC standards.
