An opportunity has arisen for a proactive Category Manager focusing on CAPEX spend (Capital Equipment, Plant, Machinery and MRO) in the Life Science industry. The position is for six months based near Chester and requires some international travel.

Description
- Commercial management of CAPEX spend (Capital Equipment, Plant, Machinery and MRO) of c£90 million.
- Developing and implementing effective procurement strategies.
- Engaging with stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver value.
- Negotiating with suppliers to achieve optimal terms and conditions.
- Managing supplier relationships and performance.
- Forecasting trends and market dynamics to inform procurement decisions.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Travelling internationally on an ad hoc basis as required by the role.
Profile
- A solid background in CAPEX procurement across Capital Equipment, Plant, Machinery and MRO, specifically within a manufacturing or engineering sector.
- Experience of developing and deploying national category/procurement strategies cross functionally
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- An understanding of global market trends and dynamics.
- The ability to travel internationally as required.
Job Offer
- A salary in the range of £60,000 - £65,000 per annum.
- A fixed term contract for a period of 6 months with a start date of anytime between now and the end of January.
- The position requires 2 days a week in the office based near Chester with some international travel on an ad hoc basis.
