Winfield Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join our Hospitality Team (1 x 18 Hours vacancy available).
Winfield hospital is a 39 bedded hospital situated on the outskirts of Gloucester. The hospital offers a range of services and facilities including three operating theatres, a sterile services department, a dedicated endoscopy suite, physiotherapy and an X-ray department with mobile MRI and CT scanner on site.
We also cater for the Dean Neurological centre which is a 60 bed residential unit.
Shift patterns will vary between Mondays to Sunday from 8am - 7pm with 1 in 2 weekends required.
Duties and responsibilities
You will be part of a team who ensure the preparation and delivery of a food and beverage service to patients.
As a Catering Assistant you will be responsible for the service of all food and drink to the patients on the wards including managing dietary requirements.
Additional tasks will consist of the washing of cutlery, replenishing our hot drinks machines and explaining the daily menus across all meals.
You will be part of a team of Catering Assistants who are fundamental in ensuring that all work is carried out in a hygienic and methodical manner and that standards of cleanliness throughout the hospital are in line with our policies.
Who we're looking for
Ideally you will be an experienced Catering Assistant from a Healthcare or similar industry with demonstrable experience in a customer facing environment/role.
The successful candidate will have proven experience of assisting within a catering setting and you must be able to work on your own initiative
Candidates must have a positive and flexible approach to customer service and strong communication skills.
