Location: Exeter based
Required to start April 2024.
Would you like to be part of a busy and modern kitchen team providing high quality, freshly prepared hot dinners for over four hundred children per day?
We are wishing to recruit Catering Assistants to support our well-renowned dining service which provides high quality meals for over one thousand pupils and staff across our four schools each day, as well as also providing meals for two external organisations.
As a Catering Assistant you will be involved in all aspects of food preparation, kitchen hygiene processes, and washing and clearing up duties to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen. It is a busy and sometimes hectic environment requiring people to work at a fast pace at peak times. You will need to work closely with others, keeping the onsite Chef informed of work progress. Some catering experience would be an advantage.
The post will be based at Monkerton Community Primary School, although at times you may be required to work in one of our other kitchens at Broadclyst or Westclyst.
Required from April 16th or as soon as possible afterwards, the posts are permanent and range between 5 and 8 hours per day, equivalent to 25 to 40 hours a week. Precise start and finish times can be discussed at interview. Please ensure your application form includes comment about your daily availability between 8.30am and 5.30pm. The positions are term time only (38 weeks per annum). The hourly rate is £11.44, plus a holiday allowance enhancement. The hourly rate with this enhancement is £12.81.
You will have access to the Local Government pension scheme, a health scheme, a cycle to work scheme and subsidised meals in our staff café with food cooked and served by our own chefs. We support all staff with an investment in their professional development through training and a good performance management process, where a bonus is payable to those who achieve highly.
We look forward to receiving your application and hopefully meeting you as part of the recruitment process.
