Catering & Retail Manager

Do you have a background in Catering in Restaurants, Hotel’s, or Events venues, and a passion for providing an outstanding customer experience?
The successful candidate for this vacancy will work in a fantastic environment on a beautiful floating visitor village and event venue, located on the main lake on our largest family friendly nature reserve.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a change of pace from the usual catering industry hours, and would be interested in moving into the charitable sector. The venue is open to the public 9am – 5pm, with around 20-30 events every year requiring additional working hours, such as weddings and conferences, so we offer something different from the catering industry standard of split shifts, weekly late closes and early opens.
The bulk of your time will be spent leading from the front, ensuring all of our visitors get a fantastic experience on site. You will have a team of staff and supervisors who work in our two cafes, ice cream chalet and conference and wedding centre, and will use your passion and enthusiasm for great customer service to lead and develop your team.
The successful applicant will have significant practical experience in the catering industry and will be a driven, professional yet friendly individual who can build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of people. You will also need to have strong financial acumen in order to manage budgets and take control of costs, have the ability to develop creative and cost effective menus, and have experience managing and developing a team of staff effectively. Experience within the wedding and event industry would be an advantage.
