We are looking for a CDM coordinator to support our CDM professionals within the Mitie Project Centre of Excellence, who provide Principal Designer and CDM Management services for Mitie Projects and our diverse client portfolio to achieve compliance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM 2015).
The role is based at our clients Samlesbury site, serving projects managed by the Projects Professional Services (PPS) team and will provide CDM support throughout Northern England.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and projects undertaken by our Project Managers, who each manage a broad portfolio of projects ranging from circa £ 25K up to £ 5M+. Project teams are led by a of Head of Projects, who report directly to a Project Directors, and are supported by Quantity Surveyors and Project Coordinators.
The CDM team are operationally responsible for ensuring that Mitie are fulfilling and discharging our legal obligations under the CDM 2015 Regulations with regards to the planning, managing, monitoring and coordinating health and safety in the pre-construction phase, and coordinate construction health and safety through the construction phase to ensure that projects are carried out without risk to health and safety of workers or others who may be affected by the works.

As the CDM coordinator, you will Assist the Principal Designer/CDM Manager in their role under CDM; additionally, support clients and the projects teams as required, by: Undertaking site visits to establish existing site hazards and client restrictions to include within the pre-construction information. It will be your responsibility to assist the client to gather and prepare pre-construction information and distribute to duty holders. You will Gather information from designers, for inclusion into the pre-construction information and Identify gaps in pre-construction information and advise the principal designer and/or client, designers where further information may be required.
To be successful in this position, you will be a team player with a ‘can do' attitude who is outgoing, personable and respectful and have the self motivation and ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, with excellent attention to detail with good organisation and communication skills, written and oral. A driving license is essential for this role as the job involves travelling between sites, you will be able to drive long distances when required and occasional over night stays away from home.
Knowledge/experience of the CDM Regulations 2015 (desirable) as well as Recognised health and safety and/or construction qualifications, or working towards e.g., Nebosh General Certificate, or Nebosh Construction, etc. The ideal candidate will have Experience of multi-site, multi-discipline organisations within the construction and/or QHSE industry.
