The Role

As a Retirement Housing Officer you will be a familiar face in our developments providing regular and flexible contact for our customers, promoting tenancy sustainment and signposting to other services to maximise wellbeing.
The Retirement Housing Officers works closely with the Housing Officer to support the delivery of housing management service to customers living within our developments.
You will be responsible for the delivery of a telecare service during office hours, monitoring and following up on any calls made to the Out of Hours Service.
The Retirement Housing Officer is responsible for carrying out health and safety monitoring and compliance checks within developments and reporting communal repairs.
About You
You will be an enthusiastic individual who can work, adapt and thrive in a fast paced and constantly innovating and improving organisation. You will be committed to delivering excellent customer service and be able to work collaboratively with our customers and partner agencies.
You will have experience of providing a customer focused service in a housing setting for older people, housing management service or similar environment. You will be able to work on your own initiative, and be able to respond to a crisis situation in a calm and practical manner.
You will have experience of carrying out health and safety monitoring and compliance checks including carrying out risk assessments.
You will have a qualification in Housing at CIH Level 2 or equivalent or be willing to work towards a qualification.
The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, to organise own workload to achieve priorities and objectives and to work effectively on an individual basis or as part of a team. You will also need good IT skills including the ability to use email, Microsoft Office and ability to learn in house IT systems essential to business requirements along with the ability to work in a pressurised work environment and deal effectively with matters of security and tenant safety.
You will be required to travel to other developments, so must hold a current driver’s licence and have your own transport during office hours. Additional hours may also be available to provide cover in other developments.
