Cellar Person

The Ambassador Theatre Group is an extraordinary success story in the live entertainment industry. Founded in 1992 in the UK, we’ve grown into the world’s number one live-theatre company today. We cover every discipline in the theatre industry, from operating venues to ticketing platforms and producing shows. We are passionate about great shows and our ambition is to help them find the largest possible audiences.

We are currently looking for a Cellar Person to play a pivotal role in the Front of House operation, to ensure the smooth running of the cellar and Food and Beverage offering, and oversee a consistent and effective stock control. They will ensure stock levels are maintained effectively and that stock is managed correctly with minimal wastage and discrepanciesat our wonderful Ambassadors Theatre.

The Ambassadors is a beautifully intimate playhouse with an exciting and diverse schedule of programming, and has recently reopened after completing two phases of a building refurbishment . Turning over shows on average every three months, we welcome a fantastic variety of productions from comedy to world premieres of plays staring A-list casts.

Our current production, David Cale’s wickedly funny thriller Harry Clarke, stars Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor Billy Crudup (The Morning Show, Hello Tomorrow!, Coast of Utopia, No Man’s Land, Almost Famous), delivering an acting “masterclass” (New York Theatre Guide) in the one-man show until May 2024, direct from sell-out runs in New York and Los Angeles. This will be followed by musical comedy Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder! the ‘bloody marvellous’ (Financial Times) by Jon Brittain (Rotterdam) and Matthew Floyd Jones (Frisky and Mannish) with Fabian Aloise (Sunset Boulevard) until September 2024, and then The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, with an extraordinary actor-musician ensemble, based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic short story, relocated to a fishing village on the north coast of Cornwall by writing team Jethro Compton and Darren Clark, opening in October 2024.

Key Responsibilities include ensuring stock levels remain at optimal levels within bars, cellars and staying on top of placing orders; ensuring all stock is stored safely and at correct temperatures following the venue's Risk Policies and Procedures; and assisting the Customer Experience Team in maintaining an accurate venue margin between accurately checking all deliveries upon arrival and completing accurate weekly stock counts and reporting issues where necessary.
