Job Title: Part-Time Support/Youth Worker for Students with EHCP's and SEMH Needs

Location: Wolverhampton, West Midlands.
Start Date: 8th April 2024.
Interviews: Interviews are being held on Thursday afternoon, 28th March 2024.
Salary: Paid hourly via PAYE, negotiable for the right candidate

Role Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Part-Time Support/Youth Worker to join our team, focusing on providing tailored support to 6 students with EHCP's and SEMH needs. This role involves working closely with students who may face barriers to learning due to various challenges, including behavioural difficulties and disengagement from mainstream education.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with EHCP's and SEMH needs, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Implement strategies to support students in managing Challenging Behaviour and promoting positive social interaction.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other Support Workers to develop and implement personalised learning plans for students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions.
  • Uphold the college's safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, carers, and external agencies to promote student engagement and progression.
Essential Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training), PRU (Pupil Referral Unit), or alternative provision students.
  • Experience supporting students with EHCP's and SEMH needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively manage Challenging Behaviour and diffuse potentially volatile situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
  • Must be available for 2 days per week and able to start immediately.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance dated within the last 3 months or registered on the update service is mandatory.
