An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Food and Beverage Team Leader to join our team at Cheddar Gorge and Caves. You will be taking responsibility for the shop floor, including motivating the team, delegating tasks and leading by example by getting stuck in.
What will this role entail?
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, you’ll be responsible for guiding and coordinating the work of the team to complete tasks; identifying and exploring opportunities to drive sales. You will be ensuring team members maintain business standards in relation to merchandising, service and promotional activities, in line with procedures, to keep the shops running like clockwork.
Key duties will include:
To run the unit on a day-to-day basis, coordinating the team, maintaining the highest standards of guest service, and cash, stock control and security operations.
To actively sell the current product offering in a professional and friendly manner
To process transactions through the till in a professional manner and support in the opening and closing of tills as required.
To be aware of current performance and targets to achieve at the start of each shift
Delegate tasks and solve problems swiftly
Lead your unit in the absence of the Assistant Managers, taking responsibility for day-to-day operations
To support the assistant managers in monitoring Team members' performance, add and implement training when directed or needed to maintain service levels
Individually delivers exceptional service which exceeds a guest’s expectations. Develops and inspires the same service from the team
To assist the management team in maintaining floats, reconciling cash and stock as required, ordering and stocktaking, and maintaining minimal stock loss, pricing and purchasing levels.
What will I need to be considered for this vacancy?
5 GCSEs at grade C and above to include Maths and English or equivalent qualification
A good variety of Food and Beverage experience and the ability to get the best out of people.
The ability to project a positive image and serve as a role model for others
A responsible approach and excellent communication skills so you can provide your colleagues with feedback to help develop themselves and the business
Positive and curious, ability to create ideas about how to improve the guest and colleague experience
Strong ability to act resourcefully, ensuring that work is completed within specified time and quality parameters
Can remain calm and reasonable amidst tense or stressful situations
Happy to expand your skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working
Flexible approach to working hours and days which include evenings and weekends.

You’ll be employed on a permanent 40-hour contract, working 5 days out of 7 including weekends, evenings and bank holidays as required. The earliest start time is from 9 am, and the latest finish time is up to 8.30 pm, varying following opening times.
