Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Chef to join our team in preparing delicious and high-quality meals. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing food production, ensuring food safety standards, and leading a team of kitchen staff in a busy restaurant setting.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following recipes and presentation specifications
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff activities, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation
- Maintain high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety
- Assist in menu planning, ordering supplies, and controlling costs
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on cooking techniques and procedures
- Monitor food stock levels and wastage to minimise costs
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a hospitality environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations
- Excellent cooking skills with the ability to create innovative dishes
- Experience in supervising kitchen staff and managing a team effectively
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire others
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or relevant field is desirable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment
