Job description

Are you a talented and successful Chef de Partie that wants to work for a stunning venue based in Berkshire? If so, then this role could be for you!

Our client is a fantastic events and conference facility based within beautiful grounds in Berkshire. They are looking for a Chef de Partie that can assist with the running of the kitchen and overall contributing to the success of the restaurant, conferences and banquet events. The successful candidate will be organised and be able to work independently as well as be able to follow instructions. You will be required to hold a food and hygiene level 2 certificate as well as previous industry related experience. There is no split shifts with this position but the role would require some flexibility on evenings and weekends depending on the event schedule for the week.

Due to the location of this role, you must be a driver.

Duties

  • Organise and set up the assigned section of the Food, Beverage and Kitchens as efficiently as possible to increase speed and maximise productivity.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared consistently and according to standard recipes.
  • Assist the Sous Chefs and Exec Chef in ensuring that all culinary standards comply with company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor food and operating costs and control these by reducing waste.
  • Train the kitchen porters in that section of kitchen in the skills necessary for them to perform their function.
  • Ensure the sanitation standards for kitchen are being met.
  • Ensure that operating and kitchen equipment is maintained to a good standard with minimum breakage.
  • Provide fast, friendly, professional customer service to the restaurant service delivery team.
  • Check stations assigned to and check for complete setups.
  • Stay focused and is conscious about food presentation and consistency.
  • Use and apply proper kitchen safety procedures and basic cooking skills.
  • Properly wrap, label, date and store all food items in their correct areas.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and handling of equipment.
  • Keep workstation clean at all times during service time.
  • Perform all duties in adherence to all company standards and policy
