Refugees and displaced people arrive in the UK with a huge range of skills, qualifications, and work experience. Refugee employment is proven to be the biggest factor in the successful integration of refugees into the UK, yet unemployment rates in the refugee community are up to four times higher than the national average. Refugees arrive with qualifications, skills and work experience which are not always recognised and valued in the labour market.
Our client’s mission is to ensure that UK refugees have fulfilling employment and are able to re-build their lives in the UK. They bring together businesses, non-profits and local authorities to ensure refugees in the UK have access to paid work or self-employment opportunities.
Founded in 2019, our client is the only national membership network in the UK exclusively focused on creating better employment opportunities for all refugees across the whole country.
Chief Executive
Location: UK based with virtual office and use of a London based office. Occasional travel required.
Salary: £70,000 full time equivalent, pro rata for a nine-day fortnight at 34 hours a week. Further flexible work options available.
This is an incredible moment for our client as they seek to find their first Chief Executive to run a dynamic and exciting organisation. The CEO will drive the organisation’s long-term sustainability, shaping the organisation's strategy to build on its significant achievement in its first two years as a registered charity.
Our client is a hands-on organisation aiming to change the dial for refugee employment in the UK. They want to grow their membership and add value to the fantastic work their members are doing across the UK. The CEO will also bring together refugees, businesses, and employment support organisations to establish best practice and effect real change. They will also secure income to be able to maximise the organisation’s impact.
We are seeking those with the following skills areas:
- Senior leadership experience within in a start-up social impact organisation or launching new complex new projects in established entities.
- A strong record of accomplishment of income generation /fundraising.
- Experience developing and delivering organisational wide strategy and business plans.
- Experience of raising the profile of an organisation.
