Do you want to make a difference to the lives of the members of the UK fire services community, empowering individuals to live happier and healthier lives?
The Fire Fighters Charity was formed in 1943, when the then Fire Service National Benevolent Fund helped bereaved families of firefighters killed during the Blitz. Since then, they’ve worked with all the UK Fire and Rescue Services, providing high quality support, working in partnership to improve health and wellbeing, supporting physical, mental, and social health to fire service personnel and their families, helping them through whatever life’s challenges may be.
Today, they make a difference to the lives of over 10,000 people a year, providing a diverse range of services including:
- Delivering preventative health and wellbeing advice and information through a diverse range of online tools and in-person coaching
- Physical and mental health support services for those with an identified need
- Specialist programmes to support families and children
- Support their retired population and help to tackle social isolation and loneliness by bringing people together on a regular basis and providing a befriending service
- The welfare team provides financial assistance when its required, as well as supporting individuals with essentials such as home adaptations.
The Fire Fighters Charity are seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive who will take the charity through the next phase of its evolution. Your ability to provide robust leadership and deliver results will be an essential element of this role. You will be an excellent communicator and ambassador and will have credibility and influence with our stakeholders and partners. You will be passionate about championing our Charity’s Vision and Values.
Key drivers for the new Chief Executive include:
- Expanding the charity’s reach to provide services and support to progressively more beneficiaries
- Deliver on health and wellbeing requirements for current and future beneficiary needs with a clear focus on developing the prevention agenda
- Drive digitalisation and business intelligence
- Increase and diversify the charity’s revenue streams to ensure a sustainable budget to deliver on current and future service requirements
- Create an environment to sustain a culture of excellence
- Lead the Charity, its employees and volunteers, making best use of resources and maintaining engagement and motivation
- Build and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders including beneficiaries, corporate partners, employees, volunteers, trustees and company members.
