Job description

The Chief Procurement Officer will shape and drive the Procurement & Supply Chain strategy for a national transport systems and solutions provider. They will oversee the creation of a shared service purchasing function across several currently disparate teams rationalising spend across maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) - transport / industrial spend, facilities management, property and a full range of corporate services.

Description

  • Develop and implement strategic procurement policies and procedures
  • Lead, manage, and optimise the company's procurement & supply chain operations
  • Drive cost savings and efficiency improvements
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Provide strategic leadership to the procurement team
  • Identify and mitigate procurement risks
  • Contribute to the company's sustainability goals through responsible procurement practices

Profile

A successful Chief Procurement Officer should have:

  • A degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or similar field
  • Ideally a relevant postgraduate qualification
  • Extensive knowledge of procurement principles and procedures
  • A range of category experience including maintenance repair and overhaul (MRO) - transport / industrial spend, facilities management, property and a full range of corporate services.
  • Sector experience related to transport maintenance and services
  • Strong leadership and transformation skills
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic procurement plans
  • Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations
  • Commitment to sustainability and responsible procurement practices
