Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust (HCT) has an exciting opportunity which has arisen in the Public Health 5-19 School Nursing team, for a Qualified Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) or Education Mental Health Practitioner
Please note that in order to be considered for this job you need to have completed the CYP-IAPT Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) or Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) training

The CWP will be based in the School Nursing Team and will have strong links to CWP pathway within the trust and our Early Intervention Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service, Step2.
Step2 are an innovative and forward-thinking service with a robust team of Mental Health Practitioners from various therapeutic backgrounds. The Public Health School Nursing team were successful in their tender to deliver a revised and innovative school nursing programme as part of an integrated Family Centre Service. The new service has an increased focus on early intervention and emotional Mental Health and wellbeing.
The successful candidate will be delivering targeted 1:1 emotional health and wellbeing work and also delivering occasional group sessions in school. You will also be delivering virtual workshops to parents and young people. The successful candidate will be expected to support, offer advice and training/education to the School Nursing Team/Service.

You will use your previous training as a CWP or EMHP to deliver low level Mental Health interventions to adolescents and the parents of children presenting with mild anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties. As part of this role you will be expected to complete assessments, deliver 1-1 and group interventions, risk assess where necessary and facilitate workshops. There will be occasions where you may be asked to work flexibly e.g. running workshops after 5pm and working across more than one quadrant. Therefore, please note it is essential you have a full driving license, have access to a car and that you are confident and comfortable driving.
This role would suit applicants keen to progress their career as a CWP, working therapeutically with children and families.
