Job Title: Social Worker - Children Look After
**Location:** Durham

Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Social Worker to join our Children Look After Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child welfare and a commitment to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for children who are in the care of our organization.
Responsibilities:
1. Case Management: Provide comprehensive and individualized case management for children in the care system, ensuring their safety, well-being, and developmental needs are met.
2. Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of children's needs and formulate effective care plans in collaboration with the child, their family, and relevant stakeholders.
3. Placement Support: Work closely with foster families, group homes, and other care providers to ensure a stable and supportive living environment for children.
4. Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and best interests of children in legal and administrative proceedings, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
5. Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including educators, healthcare professionals, and external agencies, to provide holistic support for children in care.
6. Crisis Intervention: Respond to crises promptly, providing emotional support and coordinating appropriate interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
7. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including case notes, assessments, and reports, adhering to professional standards and legal requirements.
Qualifications:
1. Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
2. State licensure as a Social Worker.
3. Experience in child welfare and working with children in care.
4. Knowledge of relevant child protection laws and regulations.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Empathy, resilience, and a commitment to advocating for vulnerable children.
