A specialist children s service near Newark is looking for a compassionate and inspiring person to join them as a Residential Care Worker, supporting young people living with SENDs or who have had adverse childhood experiences to flourish and thrive in a warm, safe, and secure place.
The service offers an independent school and dedicated residential home for primary- and secondary-aged children, combining an evidence-informed curriculum with a vibrant communal atmosphere to foster creativity, confidence, and a real passion for learning. Each team member shares the goal of helping disadvantaged young people to build self-esteem, form positive attachments, and access opportunities for social, emotional & occupational skill development.
As a Residential Care Worker, you will be based solely within the accommodation provision. You will support young people across different aspects of their daily life, including:
Acting as a key worker and mentor, offering appropriate support, guidance and care;Helping with hobbies, social activities, and skill-building, including going on outings;Promoting welfare and ensuring there is always a safe space to relax and unwind. This is a permanent, full-time role within a children s residential setting. This role requires a commitment to a set rota pattern which features 8 - 9.30am, 3 - 10.30pm, and extended 8am 10.30pm shifts. Sleep-in cover may be required, for which you will get an extra GBP60 per occasion.
