Residential Support Worker (Full time)
We have an exciting opportunity for Support workers, to be part of a well established children's service based in South Wales. This is an opportunity to develop and progress within a child-centred environment. Successful candidates will have access to training, direct supervision from management and will be encouraged to further their self-development.
Experience & Requirements
- QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People residential care (desirable)
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience within a residential setting.
- Full UK driving licence. (essential)
- Strong communication skills. (essential)
Job role:
- Supporting young people aged 11-17 years of age.
- Recording daily information, formulating incident reports, completing health & safety records, amending risk assessments and care plans.
- Support the homes manager in implementing change and attend reviews.
General statement of purpose:
- To contribute to the development and efficient operation of care practice and the provision of a consistent level of service delivery to children and young People.
- To assist in implementing systems and processes which reflect the aims, objectives and philosophy as laid down in the Practice Handbook.
- To ensure that the Health, Safety and well-being of young people is maintained.
- Undertake direct work with the young person to ensure their view and individual needs are met and young people have a view to the services which are being provided.
Working shift pattern:
The home will operate an alternating shift pattern, covering 24 hours. Consisting of 10:00am to 11:00am support hours, followed by a sleep in and handover until 10:00am the next morning. An additional sleep-in allowance is paid at £55 per night.
This may change due to the needs of the business, but this is the proposed rota.
- Week 1: Monday & Thursday
- Week 2: Tuesday & Saturday
- Week 3: Monday, Thursday & Sunday. (Example rota)
- 210 hours annual leave

Pay: £27,174.00-£30,450.00 per year
