Role: Children's Services Worker

Salary: £11.74 an hour (Inc. Inner London allowance)
Contract/Hours: Annualised Hours - We are looking for candidates able to work a minimum of 216 hours a year, this could be done over two Saturdays a month and two or three days during the School Holidays. We require staff to be able to work Wednesdays and Thursdays term time only, 3:30-7pm, this could be a regular shift or you will be a part of pool of staff who have this availability

A bit about the role
Action for Children Short break services in Islington and Camden support disabled young people in their own homes or in their local community.
We support children to make and meet friends, connect with their communities, and enjoy new opportunities and experiences, and encourage children to be ambitious about what they want to do and work with them to make their wishes a reality. The approach is about being inclusive, flexible and, above all, fun.
As a Children's Services Worker, you will be responsible for providing support to children, young people, and families by agreeing and directly delivering interventions, with appropriate direction, which enable positive and agreed outcomes to be achieved, in accordance with organisational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.

How you'll help to create brighter futures
- Providing direct family support in the early help service, through a blend of digital or face to face contact.
- Managing a case load, record effectively, deliver an intervention, refer and Support families onto other services as required.
- Contributing to and attending family meetings.
- Support children and their families in different environments
- Support children and their families to thrive by delivering different techniques and methods.
- Tracking children's learning and development and communicate with their parents and carers.
Let's talk about you.
- NVQ Level 2 in Childcare or Equivalent.
- Experience of working as part of a team or as an individual
- Experience with child development and planning for individual child's needs.
- Understand how to engage with young people and their parents/carers.
- Good understanding of safeguarding.
- Passion and motivation to support children and families to grow, effectively communicate and develop together.
