Base Location: Flexible - Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness or Glasgow
Salary: £44,195 - £50,611 depending on skills and experience + car / car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing, and family.

The role is an exciting opportunity to work across the SSE Renewables Hydro teams and reporting directly to the Lead C&I Discipline Engineer. As a Hydro C&I Technician you'll be responsible for supporting the regional maintenance teams while playing an important role in leading and supporting C&I projects.
The role will involve working across all Hydro regions which covers much of Scotland. As such it will involve occasional overnight stays and frequent travel to sites. There may also be instances when you will be required to work outside normal working hours.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing technical support for SCADA, control systems, data communications, and other C&I assets.
- Planning, scheduling, co-ordinating and supervising C&I projects alongside the lead C&I engineer and regional maintenance teams.
- Assessing the technical integrity of C&I assets and proposing technical solutions proactively.
- Understanding the importance of OT Cyber Security and supporting the implementation of the Hydro cyber security policy.
- Supporting, maintaining and promoting engineering best practices.
What do I need?
- A minimum of HNC qualification or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject.
- Experience operating and maintaining PLC's, SCADA systems and field instrumentation. You should also be familiar with various fixed and wireless communication protocols and have a basic understanding of OT cyber security.
- Understand the basics of project life cycle from FEED through to commissioning, and basic knowledge of project design deliverables.
- Extensive knowledge of C&I maintenance activities.
- The ability to communicate clearly and translate technical data into easy-to-understand language.
