Our client is a leading specialist in high voltage Transmission and Distribution systems.
Their primary focus lies in the design and construction of substations up to 400 kV, with a successful track record across diverse sectors such as Transmission and Distribution, Renewables, Data Centres, Manufacturing, and Pharmaceuticals.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of the structural aspects of assigned projects.
- Collaborate with internal construction and electrical planning teams to review construction and design plans from consultants.
- Generate weekly reports for HV Grid Cable installation, coordinating with relevant site managers.
- Ensure alignment of structural design elements with customer specifications, industry guidelines, and procedural rules.
- Collaborate with project managers on project planning, including cost estimates, material selection, review of HV cable route diagrams and calculations.
- Participate in the route selection process for various HV cable grid route projects.
- Ensure that technical services adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Implement quality management and monitor on-site subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with quality documents and procedures during construction.
Conduct weekly/monthly meetings with project QS, construction manager, operations manager, safety officer, project engineer, project manager, and construction supervisor as required.
Conduct quality audits and coordinate the HV cable installation program with subcontractors.
Skills/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensed Civil Engineering.
- 2 years of relevant experience in HV Grid Cable Projects.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in the application of theories, standards, practices, and concepts in Civil design for TL.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for presentation, preparation, review of technical documents, reports, and various correspondences.
- Advanced knowledge in PLS Software, AutoCAD software, and/or STAAD, Pro Microsoft, and other structural software.
- Flexibility/adaptability.
- Strong communication skills.
