Principal Civil Engineer Position Overview- Manage a small team of Engineers, ensuring the delivery of work packages with minimal supervision.
- Ensure timely submission of deliverables, conduct technical checks, monitor budgets, and manage projects commercially.
- Foster the performance and development of professional staff through guidance, training, and feedback.
- Handle projects of varying sizes, providing engineering design solutions to high standards.
- Provide internal team leadership in implementing engineering solutions.
- Lead daily technical discussions and solutions with designers, contractors, and clients.
- Ensure adherence to requirements within technical briefs and works information.
- Solid academic foundation with postgraduate qualifications in civil or structural engineering.
- At least 10 years of industry experience.
- Chartered Status in civil or structural engineering with membership in professional bodies.
- Strong interpersonal and technical skills.
- Demonstrated success in a dynamic engineering consultancy environment.
- Proven expertise in tunnelling and underground space on significant infrastructure projects.
- Established track record of commercial achievements.
- Proficiency in BIM and other design software.
- Thorough understanding of relevant standards, legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines.
- Hybrid working (2-3 days in office).
